You know, it all starts with a dream. It all starts with a yearning in your heart. I can remember being very very young..4 or 5 and just wanting to make stuff. I didn't know what I wanted to make, I just wanted to create.
I started crocheting at age five and did sewing then too, and drawing consumed my time when I wasn't with my grandma, or my mom was not able to guide me with my crafts.

Anyway, That was sort of the inspiration with this old school desk. It started out an old worn out piece that someone had tried to refinish with sanding and then gave up because, lets face it, sanding an old piece just isn't fun.

I got a hold of it and had to think about it for awhile. What was I going to paint on this? I was doing it for a friend who wanted to sell one of a kinds in her booth in another location from where I sell. Hmm, well owls are popular and all the rage right now, plus they are fun and as colorful as you want them to be.Since this was a school desk...wise old owls....school...day dreaming...hmmm...LOL See where I am going?

I have been told to try to stay SIMPLE with my work. Simple, what does that mean? Isn't simplicity for some, boring or difficult for others? Simple has not ever been in my "artistic" dictionary. I paint something pink...and it just looks well, pink. I have to add something..and the process goes on and on and I before you know it...it doesn't LOOK simple...but in actuality, for me it wasn't that difficult. If I paint from the subconscious and paint without forcing myself to stay simple...the process is so much easier for me.

Anyway, I finished this sweet school desk. My friend put it in her booth...it SOLD in less than a week. We got what we asked for it, and didn't have to come down....and I didn't have to stay simple in my creative process.

I love it when that happens. Now it makes me think that all those things that I forced myself to try to stay simple with the design, should I bring them back to my studio and REpaint them from my heart instead of from simplities sake?

I might...one piece at a time.

But then again, maybe I should just keep doing the stuff that is thrown at me and work on emptying my garage of all my unpainted treasures. :)

But no matter what I will ALWAYS...Believe in my daydreams.

It all started with the front door!

Wow, it has been forever since I posted. I am kind of blog shy as it is and then never know what to say once I decide to get on here. I am sorry about that, I really WANT to get this blog more active!

So, wayyyy back last fall? Or late summer rather, I posted about wanting to decorate my home and get the painting started! I did it, I did it! (it was when I decided to take action that was a problem but that is beside the point!) I actually got my home started! Thanks to Aubrey, my middle son Tucker's Girlfriend. She said she would help me, one day last summer, and then one hot september day, she said, lets go look at paint...and a monster was created!

I started with the front door. Yep, as you walked into my house, the door was a faded old redwood color hit by that Texas sun too many times to mention. It was so very tired!

So, I wiped the door clean, and lightly sanded it and applied Kilz primer. I love that stuff and use it on everything!

I did apply a couple coats of primer. Partly because one coat just didn't cover, but then also because my son Tiger wanted to help, so he helped with the third coat of primer. (he!)

I picked out a color called Espresso Bean as I THOUGHT I was going to want a black paint, but after matching several colors to the brick, I decided a really dark brown would be better. THe gal at the Home Depot said it was the best coverage paint I could buy, but umm, I still painted 3 coats of espresso bean on the front door. Here is the first coat.

Getting better, but I wanted it to look like a pro had painted it, right?

So, here is my finished door :) Since starting the painting, I have been through the entire house with paints. Can't wait to show you what else I have been up to!

Home interior painting help

So, here we have it, the weather starts cooling down, and I get the itch to paint the inside of my home. I don't like neutral colors, I like bright, funky, and fun colors...my walls have NEVER been painted for the most part because I am afraid to do it. what if it looks terrible the way I WANT it? Will I have the energy to redo it within a week? help me. Anyone have ideas for me? My favorite colors, fuschia, red, orange, turquoise, aqua, black and white, lime green, pink...I like yellow too. You know, like a gypsy wagon of sorts only parked here in the boring suburbs of fort worth, Texas. I can paint anything on a small scale, just the way I want it...but when you give me 20foot ceilings and lofty living rooms...I am frozen. SIGH...and every year, I say I will have my home painted by Christmas, so it will be pretty. And every year for 7 now in THIS house...my walls are still just drab, and now dirty...from 3 boys and a great dane that is attempting to paint the walls every time he shakes his head!
I must say it is hard for me to post stuff like this. It is too personal. My brother has a way of throwing things up on my fb that are funny and sort of poking fun, but this issue with my home is driving me mad. It feels like as "the woman" of the house and home maker, and an artist to boot...it feels like a failure to have an undecorated, unbeautiful home. SIGH...any suggestions out there? I have one room that is just about totally empty, my soon to be studio. why not start there? Its either there or the foyer as it is almost empty too. If there is someone out there in facebook land that is really good with this stuff, and patient with an indecisive, loves everything sort of personality...I would sooooo love you for some coaching. I would even consider a trade or bartering my services for yours.

I started painting TOMS shoes for TOMS at local events in the DFW area. During these events time is limited and so is the design because of time. But when someone showed up to an event with a pair of shoes to send home with me to paint....I couldn't resist.

This is the design I painted for her, complete with Swarovski Crystals all hand placed and hot fixed around the cross and across the other shoe.

What I am offering to you, is YOUR favorite colors, theme, full coverage of the shoes, complete with bling!! You order your shoes, (or I can do it for you with the cost of shoe added to the design fee) and have them sent to me. This assures me that you get the size you know they need. They do fit some people different than other brand shoes. i.e. my son wears a size 12 tennis shoe, but in TOMS he wears a 10. BUT he has a narrow foot...I wear a 9 in both toms and regular shoes......back to my point...LOL...you order the shoes, and I will paint a full coverage design on them and add crystals to them too, if you like.

"Going Wild"

I am so excited to have gotten a chance to do another collaboration with an old friend! Let's see, where do I begin? Most of you have heard of eBay, right? Well, way way back about 7-8 years, maybe more, ebay had almost a cult following for children's hand made boutique clothing. Several of my steadfast friends and customers I made on eBay back before all the hidden higher fees. Ebay isn't exactly a thing of the past for me, as I will still keep my boutique open there if for nothing else, but for advertising. It is worth it to me. But as a design group, Sugar3 Faze2 we have decided to make a HUGE change and try Facebook out for a design launch. That's where this adorable graphic above comes in. Bethany Mathews, elf*shimmer*design, and I have collaborated to bring to you an adorable set for boys for the .rest of summer and back to school. Here is a sneak peek of what I painted for the launch.

I don't quite have a finished peek of the set that Bethany has appliqued, but I have seen bits and pieces and OMGosh it is PRECIOUS! here is a shot...

Painting Baby Seals on a hot summer's day

I have been painting and painting today. Trying to keep cool when it is only 102 outside. I am also sunburned, so it just feels hot anyway. Lucky for me I had gotten an order for three pairs of these, so I got to think about rollin around in the snow all day! Love it!

I am sooo Happy with the new look I have here on my blog! Thank you to Jessica and Joe Dougherty for the graphics and the blog rescue 911 for the new look and some sort of rhyme and reason on this all important part of Dreamin Bohemian Studio :) I wanted to give them a shout out at FuNkY FiNdS and Right On Graphics!

I am so excited to start using my blog now and I wont be embarrassed to send people to look at it anymore!

I was also excited that Jessica was able to help me with some pictures in the header of my blog. Showing off some of my art as well as my sweet dogs :) I should be ashamed that only three of my babies are up there. I do have 2 cats and a 4th dog as well, but didn't have very good pictures of any of them. I will work on that!

I am so excited! The Dreamin Blog is getting a facelift after many years of just dangling here in cyber world.
Along with this facelift, I hope to post more of what if going on in the studio as well as offering little specials here and there.

Here is one of my newest ventures...I was hired on by TOMS to be an artist and paint shoes with their events they do in the DFW area. The first one was at Nordstrom on June 4th. The next one scheduled will be at the Dallas Galleria in August on the 13th. It is so fun for me to get to sit with other artists and paint and talk and also to see some of my customers. Soooo, One day I woke up and had a message from Facebook that my page was going to be shut down for infringement on someone's copyrights. If that was the case, I could if I wanted to, send facebook thousands of other boutique artists/designers who infringe on copyrights daily who still have their fb fan pages still up.

I went to facebook, and they didn't give me a chance to take some of the artwork down or anything. They removed my fan page with my 1500+ fans. I was a bit bummed, though I do understand. And this is a major lesson learned for me ~ I will only from now on be doing only my own original art. It is freeing really, as painting characters was not fun for me, and I really only started to paint them just to kind of prove that I could do it. But quite frankly, I hate copying.

What a sweet mixed media collage of a little girl and her bunny for Easter. Of course, this doesn't have to only be an Easter Gift, but it sure would be pretty in a little blond girls room :)

I make these with LOTS of different mediums, paint, pencil drawing, glitter, rhinestones, stamps, stickers, more paint, spatter some, sand some, I love the 3 dimensional flowers popping off the back ground.

My first Launch with Sugar3 Faze2 is a mini reveal Upcycle Launch. Upcycling is one of my most favorite things to do! I have ALWAYS loved taking something old and spinning it into something fresh and new!
Here I took a size 4t corduroy jumper that I had on hand in my "denim" stash and painted a funky Christmas Kitty applique. I sewed some holly fabric and sweet pompom fringe at the hem and Voila! A fun little addition to your little one's holiday wardrobe!

Me? A runner? Not hardly!

That is exactly what I would say about 3 months ago to my friend Joanna when she would tell me about this podcast program she started. There was no way I was going to run. No way, no how! HA!

Here I am in August about to graduate from the 5k101 program. I have one more 30 min run to do to consider myself graduated, and I run my first 5k September 4th!!
I am so excited and happy that I have finished the program. It starts you off slow and you watch yourself build week upon week. I can see progress and feel progress, and I have lost over 10 inches and 10 pounds all together so far.
Now my goal is to run 30 minutes 3-4 times a week. I will build on that eventually. But I am excited to have gone this far in two months!

Anyone that has looked for an exercise program that is encouraging and challenging, I would suggest this one to them. You can keep up with other runners for encouragement and accountability on runningmates facebook page as well.

Super excited to keep on going and see how far I can get :)

I have ALWAYS Loved Skulls of all kinds. Some people think that they remind them of death. But for some reason they remind me of life. They don't creep me out, I love them with floral motifs and lots of color. So when Bethany asked me to collab with her on a skull set, I just couldn't say no, now could I? Since these have been listed, I have also sold a pair of skullie pink converse to a lady who's 50th birthday party will have the theme of the pink skulls and she wanted them for herself to wear to her Birthday. See, Life!

Yay! Sweet Freedom!

I fell asleep at like 10, woke up at midnight...sick, stuffed up, couldn't sleep. But IT CAME TO ME...you know when people say," I was lost and couldn't figure out what the key was but it was with me all along?"

That has happened to me!!! I am excited, I have painted two pairs of overalls, however I wanted to paint them. Not in the constraints of what someone else would like, or would want. I was so stuck! When I started this business, I painted florals, flamingos, turtles, peace signs, LOTS OF COLOR.

I got away from that because of what people started to request. 5 years ago, I would not paint characters, I only did my own art. I know I have said it before, but this is what I am going to get back to. I am going to re emerge on ebay and my website and etsy and even at the brownstone, with FREEDOM in my heart, and finally just paint, Paint, PAINT!!! My designs feel free and beautiful.
I am so excited, I don't want to go to sleep as I am afraid I will lose this feeling and inspiration. I am exhausted tho, but wow! I am so happy. LOL and probably a bit delirious! From now on, my designs will be bursting with color and happy thoughts. nothing forced. nothing!
I have a list of ideas that I am going to create, and my overalls and painted denim and womens stuff, it is all going to be ME.
Seems simple enough, but I got too careful. Too trying to be perfect. I am free. free. FREE!

I am really loving doing these mixed media pieces. I do them in my spare time, in between clothing and pillow orders and also when I need a quick launch item for ebay. I can play with the design around a theme so easily and they seem to give birth to new ideas in my head while working on them.

Snow? In Texas?

Unbelievable!

Ok, maybe not that we got a little snow...but, ummm, we got A LOT of snow! I have not seen this kind of snow since I lived in Michigan. CRAZY!! I have played in it, walked dogs in it, and even had a little snow ball fight with Tiger in it. So much fun and a great change of pace for us who can take the time to enjoy it.
I am a polar bear at heart. Still not sure why I am still in Texas, but pretty sure we wont ever leave.

Here is the newest listing on eBay. I just love Tim Burton's take on Alice, so I mixed up his with a little bit of mine, and then of course a little bit of Suzi Blu that I learned in Mixed Media, and I ran with it. I got it listed, and by morning it had its first bid. I love that! (thank you!!)

Still working Sunday Night!

Well, it is 9:15 on Sunday night. My husband is still at work, dinner is cold, and I decided since he is still at work and the kids are on their Xbox, I will continue to paint.

I am working on an order that should have been finished a couple weeks ago. It is one of those that no matter how much I paint, it seems like it is never finished. I want to ship it out tomorrow...will probably be more like Tuesday...maybe Wednesday. SIGH.
My A.D.D. seems to kick in while waiting for sections of paint to dry before I can move on to the next color. I have already planned like 3 or four next projects to get myself enticed to finish this one. Whatever works!

Anyway, I can't wait to start on a mad hatter mixed media...or my Paris themed pillows and quilts for the Brownstone...pictures to come soon. So until I get this huge order finished...the others will have to wait.

I have not always loved Alice in Wonderland. But when my oldest son, who will be 17 next month, was 4-5 years old, he was introduced to the Alice in Wonderland Disney cartoon movie. It was and still is, I believe one of his most absolute favorite movies. I think that he studied that movie, and kept some of the "material" to use as an artsy fartsy wanna be hippy teen. LOL He inspires me.

So, with that being said...and now yes, I LOVE Alice in Wonderland...I did this mixed media painting.

I was thrilled that it was the first listing on ebay in a long time to actually get some bidding action going. (Thank you ladies) I am working on a mad hatter, but just can not get the feel right for the crazy little guy.

I would post everyday...or at least more...LOL

What have I been up to lately? I feel like I have been seeing myself coming and going lately. And quite honestly not getting nearly as much done as I wish I was. Maybe I could figure out a way to keep myself accountable by using the blog and publish my goals to the world. But for some reason that scares the heck out of me! I have several lists of things I need to get done, want to accomplish, dream about, things to do for me, my kids, my home, my business....and yet, I never know what to post on my blog! I wasn't even sure if I had many readers, and many times I feel like I am talking to myself. LOL maybe I am, maybe a few are reading? not sure...
I just TODAY saw that there was a comment on my last post, and published it. (Thank you Shawnta) and I am sorry for just now seeing that considering that I had last posted the day before HALLOWEEN!!!

Ok, so, here's the deal...lately, I have felt so scattered, and unorganized, even the least bit of organization I have at times, seem diminished.
I need to remember the things I do get done....
1. I homeschool my children...unschool rather...so that means, I do have my three sons 24/7 except when the older two are with their dad.
2. I run our home as best as I can, some people can do this sort of stuff better, but my mind wanders alot. My idea of cleaning a room is dreamining up how I could paint it differently, or paint it period! As with three boys, three dogs, and well...lets just say I am in a little over my head with trying to keep my home decorated or clean. but it is lovingly lived in and our home is utilized to the max at times.
3. I run my business of the Dreamin Bohemian Studio. This in itself could consume every waking hour of my time. But as long as my children are home with me, they must come first, so business has its highs and lows.
4. The animals...now some days, they do not come in 4th. LOL...The cat has been very sick, and has needed daily antibiotic therapy for a month now. Last week, I finally convinced the vet that I can do the shots at home instead of running up there everyday. She has a terrible microbacterium infection. Bad luck...there is no vaccine that could have prevented this one. The good news, Polly (the cat) has become one of my new best friends. I don't think she EVER liked me before. But since I have been the one taking close care of her for the past 3 months, she loves laying on top of me. Pretty sweet :)
I also have three dogs, and one requires pretty intensive training. I do the most of that as well. Taking him to classes and such. Winter has been too cold this year for the outdoor classes, but none the less, he follows me everywhere throughout the house.
5 Home accountant...THIS IS MY LEAST FAVORITE JOB around here. I don't mind paying the bills, if the money is there. I hate tax stuff and my artist brain just doesn't get the numbers involved. That is all I want to say about that subject.

So...I know that everyone has there list of jobs and life that they do and take care of for their families. I do not seem to give myself credit for the life that I lead. First things first, right?

I guess that is where my time goes, and I am lucky enough to squeeze my art in there somewhere!! I am really trying to get a bit more work accomplished. I need goals, lists, for each sector of my business and then just start ticking things off that list.

This post is pretty much a note to self...a reminder of sorts. I don't expect anyone to read it...LOL..I will post pretties next! ;)

She is a PRECIOUS GURRRRRLLLL

hehe, We have a new member in our family. Tiger loves her!! And he asked me the other day if I knew what she was, and I said, "no what?" and he told me, "She's my PRECIOUS GURRRRL"!! Her name is Molly, and she is a tiny little chiweewee ;) A chihuahua crossed with a dachsund. I had one just like her when I was pregnant with Tiger. My neighbor asked me if I wanted Molly who needed to find a home FAST, and I have SUCKER written all over me, when it comes to dogs!
So, now, we have a 6 pound dog, a 70 pounder and a 125 pounder! I think I need to start making doggie clothes and accessories as I have a pooch for each size available!

I was so excited to wake up this morning and see this in my email. this was the first year I have entered the awards. Guess it was the first year I wasn't floating around in space or something when the time came to enter ;)

Creative Souls

Just thought I would post some exciting news! My son, Zac, has been interning at the school of modern music called, Creative Soul.
This week, the owner Casey Thomas, his "boss" Cel Guidry, hired him on and made it official! My First Born has his First job...and it is one in which he gets to do what he loves...not bad at the ripe old age of 15! Gooooo Zac!
I am so proud of him!

I got a custom order a few weeks ago from a Grandma of a Sweet little Texas Girl. She wanted some fancy schmancy blinged up overalls with a Texas Flag on the bottom. Here are a couple pics of what I came up with.

I just KNOW these will look so much cuter on a Precious little girl, than they do on my manne, but I do believe that they turned out very very sweet...and sparkly!

New Displays

I just thought I would show off my shop in Canton, once again...I have changed it quite a bit more, and it has been awhile since I last shared pictures.

Something I don't share about so much is my painted glass. I have been painting glass since about 1999 for "Claudia's". Alot of the glass designs have been Western...not the only style I paint, by far...but forwhile, western was ALL I did. Anyway, I decided to bring some of my painted glass out to The Mountain. I needed a great way to display it, so close to where I live, there is a great little antique shop called The Sage House. Barbara runs and owns this shop, and she and I have such similar tastes in furnishing! Don't you just love meeting kindred spirits?

Well, I found this awesome OLD chippy paint cabinet in her shop. I had eyed it a few times, and each time, I mentioned to Barbara how much I LOVED that piece!
When I decided to bring all the painted glass up to Canton...I went buy The Sage House in Keller, and bought her cabinet. Everytime she sees me now, we talk about this cabinet, and she misses having it in her store. Here is a picture of the my display using this primitive cabinet and a table that I also bought from Barbara.

Well, of course when I brought that wonderful display in, I had to switch the shop up some more, and I have created a Rock Star Corner done in pink, black, and white.

I am always working on trying to figure out new ideas for my little corner on the Mountain. I really enjoy looking at all of my work displayed together. LOL...Sometimes it surprises me how much I actually DO get painted. because I must confess, that most of the time, it feels like I spin my wheels. But when I see it all displayed together, it is some sort of verification that I do work pretty hard ;)

Tanglewood Elementary

I recently had a woman contact me about painting a desk for her. It is a children's desk, and really pretty cool. A local elementary school, Tanglewood Elementary, does a fund raiser of some kind each year where a room mom gets the desk painted, and they auction it off (Or something) to raise money for their child's class.
Well, then she passed my name onto another mom, and so I got two jobs from this one contact off of my website.
I was pretty excited!
Here is a picture of the first desk.

It is that chalky paint sort of finish, in a linen color, with a chalk board desk top. I love the way it turned out!

The second desk was a bit of a challenge. The theme was supposed to be Springtime in Paris. The client wanted me to paint a checkerboard game on the top of the table, and also tie it in with Paris, France somehow. Well, then another curve was thrown in there, can you add Tigers to it as well?? Hmmm, I first thought the name of the project would be "Parisian Games". Sounded catchy, but as I was painting...and that is when I start REALLY brainstorming with myself...lol...I kept calling it "Tigers in Paris"...but that checkerboard was then haunting me. If you know my work...you will know that I do not do much geometric style painting. Everything I do is free form, everything I do is by hand. I don't use rulers, overhead projectors, masking, or do I ever want to look at other people's work and copy. But I had said I could do a checkerboard, and I would do a checkerboard...I just didn't know how to make it look real.
Well, my husband knows airbrushing, and he understands masking and all of that, so I got him to help me mask it out...just giving me some guidance...but other than that, it is all free form. LOL...here is a picture...

Rock Stars!

Well, I have heard through the grapevine that I really needed to get something posted. Things have been a little nutts around here. One of the things, my husband has been home 24/7 for about a month now. I just hardly ever get computer time with him home!

So, aside from that...I thought I would share what we have been up to in my family.

Some of you may know that my three boys wanna be Rock Stars! Yes, including Tiger, the 4 year old.

Well...we have been going to Open Mic night at The Back Porch in Grapevine, Texas and on February 27th, 2008...all THREE of my boys worked up the nerve to play in front of the audience. I was so proud :)

It was my oldest son's 15th Birthday. He went from saying he didn't know how to Improv on the guitar to doing THREE Guitar solos that were ALL IMPROV!!

My other two sons, Tuc and Tye...play the drums. (Yes a little insanity runs through my blood at times!)

Waiting for Santa

Well, I have just about the SWEETEST 4 Year Old who ever roamed the planet! His name is Tiger, and this was THE year that he REALLY remembered Christmas from last year, and absolutely could not wait for the day to arrive.
We put our tree up a week before the big day. And he decided that instead of falling asleep on my arm, which he has done almost everynight since he was born, that he would sleep on the couch.
Well, as the big day drew closer, he started to fall asleep on the floor....looking up at the twinkling lights of our 10 foot tree.

After this particular night, he woke up cuddled under the tree with his head on the tree skirt.

Busy Busy and health!

Well, I can happily say that this is my most busy year ever, since I have been developing Dreamin Bohemian. I have been working from sun up to sun down, painting, sewing, and getting my kids to where they need to be...oh yeah, and getting to my work outs as well.
As some of you may know, I have been working on my weight for about 2 and a half years now. How much have I lost, you ask? Well, not very much...I have gained muscle...LMAO...which, ok, that is good...but still, I want this weight to COME OFF. So, I started seeing Dr Price...She is an AWESOME Lady! The food plan is reasonable, but here is the deal...She finds out the issues behind not being able to lose the weight. A couple of my issues were #1, being Insulin Resistant, on my way to having diabetes. My body doesn't process sugar correctly...another issue was hypo Thyroid...Which kills any metabolism. Well, the good news is, after supplimenting the thyroid, those numbers are in balance now....so it should be working properly. Next is getting that blood sugar down. Here is my theory...once that is in check, the weight should just drop right off of me. (I am REALLY HOPING THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS) I have been working sooooo hard and more consistantly than I ever have at my health. It has to start paying off!
Some other perks to Dr Price, is that I have been able to get my emotions in check going off of antidepressants and getting my neuro transmitters supplimented correctly. Ok, I am sure some of this sounds pretty boring, but I am really feeling good about seeing the results of all this hard work.

The Mountain!

I am embarking on a new venture. Ever heard of Canton, Texas? THE CANTON? Ever Been there? Ok, now, if you have been to Canton...ever been to THE MOUNTAIN?

This is my third month, on November 1st-4th to sell my wares in Canton at the Famous First Monday Trade Days. It is soooo much fun! Alot of work, but the kind of work that is hard, but easy! LOL

Anyway, Come and see me on Blackstone Trail, not quite half way up the mountain.

Here are some pictures of my shop there. I am hoping to expand one day, and own my own building, but as with everything in life...all in good time.

Well, I must say, that I am still not used to this blogging thing. I have no clue what to say about anything!

I guess I can start with what I have been up to once again. I have been sewing blankets, buying fabric, and painting a little bit.

Trying to figure out new ways to market myself. (aren't we all?) and well, only to get dropped on my head once more.

One of my best friends has left the scene. One of My businesses has hit a plateau and yet the other business ended as quickly as it started. Why is it, when you KNOW with all of your heart, what you are supposd to do with your time and energy, is it so hard to keep going with it at times? It just doesn't make sense!

7Ave has an AWESOME launch tomorrow... We are using Amy Butler fabrics and crossing them with whatever we choose. My first set is cherries and denim. I can NOT wait to get my pictures, as I have a new photographer for my website and her work is gorgeous, as well as her Girls. I will post pics here once I have them. Here are the fabrics tho.

I have also been scouring the web for Indy Artists and Crafters. Man, I have been in a whirl wind life of my own, and now am so inspired by so many people I have been finding on the internet. I don't know why I didn't realize they were here! So much to learn and so many people to meet!

Midcities Antique Mall

I am so excited, I finally got pictures taken of my boutique booth in the MidCities Antique Mall in Hurst, Texas. I had been working pretty hard to get it looking a little more cohesive....mostly with my own work, but I do have work of other artist friends and designers as well.
Please let me know what you think....My hubby says...THATS ALOT OF PINK...LOL...but it is mostly little girls stuff and I wanted it pink....afterall, I have three boys, 4 including hubby, so I think it is only fair!

Can't believe with as much as I am at this computer, I haven't been blogging religiously, I guess I just can't get used to the fact that whoever can read what I write, and what if I look back and wonder WTH did I write THAT?
LOL...Well, I haven't gotten to design much new stuff in clothing lately, tho I have done tons since I posted the last design....I started homeschooling my kids and have opened a boutique in an antique mall. Mid Cities Antique Mall in Hurst Texas. I have sold a few things there, but not enough yet, so yesterday was devoted to painting the furniture and cases that I have been meaning to paint, to get them up in the mall and get my booth beautified! It is getting there....just like everything else, it takes time. Why is that so hard? LOL
Also have a huge show coming up at the end of April. It is in LA and tho I thought I would get to be there, Mateo has sort of put a damper on that idea. It is expensive, yes, but has soooo much potential. I will be there with my art and in spirit as the few people that will be there running the show, are working their booties off! ;) WHo knows, maybe by then, things will turn around and I will get to go to it. It is called Baby Celebration.
Umm, what else is happening? Just trying to keep up with ome of the latest ins and outs of children's clothing. If anyone has any ideas of what they would like to see out there, give me a holler, as I love new and fresh ideas to ponder and experiment with. OK, that last sentence sounded really southern...LOL...

I have had so much happening lately, but wanted to share a few designs I finished this week.

One of them in a Day of the Dead design painted on size 3t jeans. They really turned out cute! Some do not like skulls on children's wear, but they are so popular at the moment!

I must add that the skulls on here are from some fabric supplied by my customer, I did not design them, but I am not sure what the fabric line is called.
