Believe in Your Day Dreams

You know, it all starts with a dream. It all starts with a yearning in your heart. I can remember being very very young..4 or 5 and just wanting to make stuff. I didn't know what I wanted to make, I just wanted to create. I started crocheting at age five and did sewing then too, and drawing consumed my time when I wasn't with my grandma, or my mom was not able to guide me with my crafts. Anyway, That was sort of the inspiration with this old school desk. It started out an old worn out piece that someone had tried to refinish with sanding and then gave up because, lets face it, sanding an old piece just isn't fun. I got a hold of it and had to think about it for awhile. What was I going to paint on this? I was doing it for a friend who wanted to sell one of a kinds in her booth in another location from where I sell. Hmm, well owls are popular and all the rage right now, plus they are fun and as colorful as you want them to be.Since this was a school desk...wise old owl

Rock Stars!

Well, I have heard through the grapevine that I really needed to get something posted. Things have been a little nutts around here. One of the things, my husband has been home 24/7 for about a month now. I just hardly ever get computer time with him home! So, aside from that...I thought I would share what we have been up to in my family. Some of you may know that my three boys wanna be Rock Stars! Yes, including Tiger, the 4 year old. Well...we have been going to Open Mic night at The Back Porch in Grapevine, Texas and on February 27th, 2008...all THREE of my boys worked up the nerve to play in front of the audience. I was so proud :) It was my oldest son's 15th Birthday. He went from saying he didn't know how to Improv on the guitar to doing THREE Guitar solos that were ALL IMPROV!! Heres a Pic ;) My other two sons, Tuc and Tye...play the drums. (Yes a little insanity runs through my blood at times!) Here are some pics of them doing their thing on the drums! here is is Tucker!

I was so excited to wake up this morning and see this in my email. this was the first year I have entered the awards. Guess it was the first year I wasn't floating around in space or something when the time came to enter ;) Anyway, I find this to be something to be proud of. It is an award given by my peers in the boutique world. Who I learn so much from as years pass.
